Role Description

The Finance and Accounting Manager plays a critical role in the financial health of the organization, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. The role requires a professional with a strong technical accounting background, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance.
  • Coordinate the annual financial audit with external auditors and manage the preparation of required schedules and documentation.
  • Oversee bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls and accounting policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the development, monitoring, and analysis of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
  • Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the leadership team to support strategic decision-making and operational goals.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.

Compliance & Tax

  • Ensure compliance with all local reporting requirements and tax regulations.
  • Manage the preparation and submission of various tax filings [e.g., sales tax, property tax, corporate tax] in collaboration with external tax specialists.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with other department heads to support cross-functional initiatives and integrate financial strategies with operational objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing month-end and year-end close processes and coordinating external audits.
  • Experience with SAP s a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
