Position Summary

The Junior Accounting Supervisor supports the accounting department by supervising day-to-day operations, ensuring accuracy of financial records, assisting in tax and compliance activities, and helping lead the accounting team. The role provides both operational support and preliminary financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting Operations

  • Supervise routine accounting tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general ledger updates.
  • Review and validate vouchers, invoices, expense reports, and petty cash liquidation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions.
  • Assist in monthly closing activities.

2. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and review basic financial schedules and reconciliations.
  • Assist in generating monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of BIR and other government regulatory requirements (VAT, EWT, 1601C, 2550M/Q, etc.).

3. Internal Control & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining proper documentation, filing, and audit trails.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements.

4. Budgeting & Analysis

  • Assist in monitoring company expenses versus budget.
  • Prepare simple variance reports for review of the Senior Accounting Supervisor or Accounting Manager.

5. Team Support & Coordination

  • Provide guidance to junior accounting staff (bookkeepers, accounting assistants).
  • Coordinate with other departments for financial data, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by immediate superior.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity is an advantage.
  • Knowledgeable in Philippine taxation and basic financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or similar).
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas).
