Your Role

As an AU Payroll & Accounts Payable Officer, you are responsible for:

Payroll Processing:

  • Process end-to-end payroll in accordance with relevant awards and EBAs.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, and STP requirements.
  • Maintain employee records, timesheets, and leave balances.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees.

Accounts Payable:

  • Review, code, and process supplier invoices for payment.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage outstanding items.
  • Ensure payments are made in line with terms and approval processes.
  • Maintain supplier records including ABNs and banking information.

Compliance & Audit:

  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support payroll and AP audits with timely and accurate documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee data.

Reconciliation & Reporting:

  • Perform payroll and AP reconciliations for month-end and year-end processes.
  • Assist in generating financial reports and analysis as required.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies or variances.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including HR and department managers.
  • Communicate with external vendors and service providers.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to queries

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school certificate or equivalent.
  • CA and/or CPA is preferred but not essential.
  • Business / Finance qualifications preferred but not essential
  • Minimum 2-3 years in a payroll and/or accounts payable role.
  • Knowledge of Fair Work Act, payroll tax, and superannuation legislation.
  • Experience using payroll/finance systems (e.g., Kronos, Jobpac, Xero, SAP Concur).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
