
Human Resources Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Human Resources Officer (HRO) to join our team at Manila Ocean Park. The HRO will play a key role in managing various HR functions, ensuring a positive work environment, and supporting the overall operation of our organization. This position will be responsible for recruitment, employee relations, training and development, payroll management, and maintaining compliance with hotel policies and legal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and an understanding of the unique HR challenges within the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Staffing:
Coordinate and manage the recruitment process for hotel positions, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating hiring procedures.
Ensure staffing levels are in line with operational needs while maintaining a strong pool of qualified candidates.
Employee Relations:
Act as a liaison between employees and management to resolve workplace issues and promote a positive working environment.
Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives to improve morale and job satisfaction.
Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters in a fair and consistent manner.
Training & Development:
Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
Assist in the design, development, and delivery of training programs aimed at improving employee skills and knowledge.
Monitor employee performance and recommend professional development opportunities.
Payroll & Benefits Administration:
Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages and benefits.
Maintain employee records, including attendance, leave, and performance data.
Help administer employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement plans, etc.).
Compliance & Policy Management:
Ensure compliance with all labor laws, health and safety regulations, and hotel policies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and legal requirements to keep the hotel's HR practices in line with best practices.
Support the development and enforcement of hotel-specific policies and procedures.
Performance Management:
Support the performance review process by tracking employee performance and providing guidance to management.
Assist in setting up performance goals and conducting performance evaluations.
Health & Safety:
Ensure the hotel follows all workplace safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Assist with health and safety training programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in human resources, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
