  • Document Management: Prepare, process, and maintain import documents, ensuring their completeness and accuracy for customs formalities and accounting.
  • Shipment Coordination: Monitor shipment readiness, arrange shipping bookings with suppliers and logistics companies, and track container movements.
  • Customs and Compliance: Transmit documents to customs brokers, monitor clearance processes, and ensure adherence to import regulations and company policies.
  • Cost Management: Prepare landed cost computations, verify shipping, handling, and customs charges, and resolve related disputes.
  • Vendor and Broker Communication: Act as a liaison with suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
  • Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain organized records of brokerage transactions and prepare reports on import activities and costs.
  • Insurance: Apply for marine insurance, monitor its expiry, and make necessary endorsements.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of import regulations, INCO terms, and international trade terminology.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, time management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience: Experience in handling customs-related tasks and supporting the import process.
  • Education: A college degree, ideally in Customs Administration or a related field, is often preferred.
