Vertex Search is undertaking an exclusive mandate with an international renewable energy consultancy with a strong presence across Asia. They specialise in providing strategic, technical, and financial advisory services for utility-scale solar projects, supporting developers, investors, and other stakeholders in accelerating energy transition.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development head to lead the client-facing activities in the Philippines. This is a senior leadership role that will drive the company's growth strategy in one of Southeast Asia's most critical renewable energy markets. The successful candidate will represent the business with financial institutions, investment groups, and major project developers, building long-term partnerships and originating opportunities that support the financing and delivery of large-scale solar projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development and client relationship management in the Philippines, with a focus on utility-scale solar.
- Build and expand partnerships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
- Establish strong networks with project developers, IPPs, EPCs, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Originate, structure, and secure new advisory mandates and consulting opportunities.
- Represent the company at high-level client meetings, conferences, and industry forums.
- Collaborate with technical and project delivery teams to align solutions with client needs.
- Provide market intelligence and insights to senior management to help shape regional growth strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years' experience in business development, investment, or client-facing leadership roles in the energy, infrastructure, or financial services sectors.
- Deep knowledge of the Philippine renewable energy landscape, particularly in solar.
- Proven track record of working with financial institutions and successfully closing complex, high-value transactions.
- Established network of contacts across developers, investors, and policy stakeholders in the Philippine energy sector.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently in a fast-growing market.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related discipline; MBA or equivalent preferred.
