Payroll Officer

The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring that all employees are compensated accurately and promptly. This includes preparing and processing payroll, calculating deductions, benefits, and taxes, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies. The role also involves maintaining payroll records, coordinating with HR and Finance, and addressing employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports end-to-end payroll processing, which includes calculations of statutory government benefits and company allowances and incentives
- Computes wages, incentives, benefits, and deductions per employee, including reconciliation
- Oversees the final pay process and validates the necessary documentation. Ensures the final payroll registers are quality checked, validated, corrected, and processed on time
- Manages payroll communication with internal and external stakeholders and employees
- Performs statutory requirement validation and processing
- Assists with year-end processes, including BIR Form 2316 preparation and submission
- Ensures compliance, audit, and timely release of all wages, including final pay
- Ensures that statutory or government-mandated benefits are granted to employees
- Complies with applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to compensation and benefit payments
- Maintains data confidentiality for payroll related matters
- Assists in payroll bank account opening
- Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to you by the management from time to time
Qualifications:
- Knowledge in general payroll calculations, labor standards, particularly employee compensation and benefits, Philippine labor law and HR best practices on statutory benefits and privileges, salary and benefits administration, and payroll regulation, and managing payroll disputes
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any related course
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in compensation and benefit processing and accounting
- Understanding of the basic principles of finance, accounting and bookkeeping
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to deal with people of different levels in the organization
- Highly analytical and with excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- A team-player, with a strong sense of commitment to deadlines
- Must be willing to work on site in Ortigas Center, Pasig City
