About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable HR and Payroll Administrator to join our Human Resources team in a remote setup. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing and processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll for all employees on a regular schedule.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, pay rates, benefits, and deductions.
- Verify timesheets, attendance, and other records to ensure accuracy before processing payroll.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to manage benefits, deductions, and salary adjustments.
- Generate and distribute payslips, reports, and payroll summaries as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee compensation data and payroll records.
- Assist in year-end payroll activities such as tax filings, reports, and audits.
- Identify and recommend process improvements for payroll systems and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Specialist, or similar role.
- Australian experience is necessary.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, and tax regulations.
- Must have experience and/or certification in AU payroll software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, , SAP, or similar).
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and other office productivity tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time-management skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to resolve employee payroll concerns.
- Ability to work independently and manage payroll responsibilities in a fully remote setup.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience managing payroll for distributed or international teams.
- Knowledge of benefits administration and HR processes.
- Certification in payroll management (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional, Fundamental Payroll Certification).
