
Human Resources Manager

Job Summary:
The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of Human Resources functions within the hotel, ensuring alignment with company policies, hospitality industry standards, and full compliance with Philippine Labor Laws. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive work environment, maintaining legal compliance, and supporting the hotel's strategic goals through effective people management.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations Management
Lead and manage day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, and performance management.
- Ensure all HR practices are compliant with DOLE regulations and industry labor standards.
Maintain updated employee records and ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all HR documentation.
Recruitment & Staffing
Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring timely and quality hires that match the hotel's service and culture standards.
- Develop talent acquisition strategies in line with the hotel's manpower requirements.
Conduct interviews for supervisory to managerial positions and coordinate with department heads for operational hiring.
Labor Compliance & Employee Relations
Ensure hotel policies and practices comply with Philippine Labor Code, DOLE mandates, and government-mandated benefits (SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, BIR).
- Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions in accordance with due process and legal requirements.
Represent the hotel in labor inspections, audits, and labor-related proceedings when necessary.
Timekeeping, Payroll & Benefits Administration
Supervise timekeeping and payroll-related processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure correct application of labor laws regarding overtime, holiday pay, rest days, service charges, and other wage-related matters.
Manage government reporting and compliance for employee contributions and benefits.
Learning & Development
Identify training needs and implement development programs to improve staff performance and service quality.
Promote career development, internal mobility, and succession planning for key hotel positions.
Organizational Culture & Engagement
Promote a healthy work culture through employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and team-building activities.
- Conduct periodic employee satisfaction surveys and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
- Serve as a culture champion, ensuring the hotel's values and standards are upheld across all departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, with 3 years in an HR leadership/managerial role within the hotel or hospitality industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Philippine Labor Laws, HR best practices, and DOLE compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
