Role Description

The Cards Reconciliation Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of card-related financial transactions through timely and thorough reconciliation processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial control, supporting operational efficiency, and managing client-facing communications related to card operations.

  • Perform daily reconciliation of card transactions between internal systems, partner banks, and payment networks (e.g., Visa, Mastercard).
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in card transaction records, including chargebacks, refunds, and failed transactions.
  • Monitor and reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts related to card operations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Mastercard-related concerns, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues.
  • Handle client-facing communications related to card reconciliation matters, ensuring timely and professional responses.
  • Prepare and submit reconciliation reports and summaries to management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support audits and internal reviews by providing documentation and explanations for card-related entries.
  • Participate in system upgrades or process improvements related to card transaction workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in reconciliation, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of card payment systems and transaction flows.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
