Fire Protection Service Technician/Inspector

About the PositionVeterans Fire Protection Inc. (VFPI) is expanding into the Harrisonburg, VA market and is seeking a highly skilled Fire Protection Service Technician to support operations along the I-81 corridor. This role is critical to our growth and will serve commercial, industrial, and multi-family clients requiring fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and life-safety system services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, testing, service, maintenance, and repairs on fire sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards and state/local codes.
  • Conduct annual, quarterly, and monthly fire protection inspections.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain wet, dry, pre-action, fire pumpsand deluge systems.
  • Work independently across the I-81 service corridor, ensuring timely response and professionalism.
  • Complete all required documentation, service reports, and compliance records accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and office staff.
  • Support installation teams when needed.
  • Maintain a company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and professional manner.

Required Qualifications

  • NICET Level II in Fire Sprinkler Systems (must have).
  • Virginia Backflow Prevention Device Tester License (required).
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and state fire protection requirements.
  • Minimum 3+ years of fire sprinkler inspection/service experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily service schedules.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fire alarm inspection or troubleshooting knowledge (not required but a strong plus).
  • Experience working along the I-81 corridor or in the Central/Western VA region.
  • NICET certifications in Fire Alarm Systems (optional).
