Head of General Insurance

The Head of General Insurance is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the company's general insurance strategy and business performance. This role leads the development and management of the general insurance portfolio, including motor, health, property, casualty, and specialty lines. The successful candidate will play a critical role in building a competitive product suite, expanding distribution, optimizing underwriting and claims processes, and achieving revenue and profitability targets in the general insurance business. This role requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of non-life insurance markets and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall general insurance business, including product development, pricing, underwriting, and claims strategy.
  • Drive portfolio growth across retail, SME, and corporate segments.
  • Build strong distribution partnerships with agents, brokers, banks, and digital platforms.
  • Oversee risk management, reinsurance, and operational efficiency to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Monitor market trends and customer insights to inform product and channel innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be a sales person with extensive experience in general insurance.
  • Deep knowledge of general insurance products, underwriting, and claims management.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across multiple functions.
  • Proven track record in driving business growth and profitability in general insurance.
  • Analytical and strategic mindset with ability to manage diverse portfolios.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and risk management practices in general insurance.
