Role Overview

The Cost and Inventory Control Officer ensures that all inventory movements, costs, and consumption are properly tracked, controlled, and reported. The role bridges. Accounting, Procurement, Production, and Operations, focusing on cost efficiency, inventory accuracy, and variance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Inventory Monitoring

  2. Track raw materials, finished goods, and supplies across all locations (restaurants, commissary, warehouse).

  3. Maintain accurate stock cards, bin cards, and system reports.
  4. Conduct regular physical counts and reconcile with the system (daily spot checks, monthly cycle counts, and quarterly audits).

  5. Costing

  6. Maintain standard recipe costing and update based on actual purchase prices.

  7. Compute food cost percentages and monitor variances between theoretical vs. actual.
  8. Review purchase prices, supplier quotations, and update cost masterfiles.

  9. Controls

  10. Ensure proper receiving, storage, issuance, transfers, and disposal procedures are followed.

  11. Implement first-in, first-out (FIFO) and prevent pilferage or wastage.
  12. Monitor and approve stock adjustments (spoilage, breakage, testing, donations).

  13. Reporting

  14. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory and cost reports for management.

  15. Analyze variances (e.g., sales vs. usage, production vs. consumption).
  16. Provide recommendations on cost reduction, menu pricing, and supplier performance.

  17. Coordination

  18. Work closely with Accounting for accurate COGS recording.

  19. Coordinate with Procurement on supplier costs and deliveries.
  20. Support Operations in identifying areas of wastage or inefficiency.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge in inventory systems (POS, ERP, Excel).
  • Analytical mindset for variance and cost analysis.
  • Attention to detail for reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of Philippine F\&B setup (e.g., CUSA, VAT, BIR reporting is a plus in your case).
  • Integrity and firmness in enforcing controls.

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

  • Inventory accuracy rate (system vs. physical count).
  • Food cost percentage within budget.
  • Number of unresolved variances.
  • Timeliness of cost and inventory reports.
  • Reduction in wastage/spoilage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php25, Php35,000.00 per month
