Job Summary:

The Cost Control Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating and auditing the cost performance of construction projects to ensure efficiency, transparency, and adherence to budgetary controls. With a background in engineering, the auditor leverages technical and financial knowledge to assess cost estimates, project progress, procurement practices, and resource utilization, providing critical insights to support project success and financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Cost Auditing:

  • Audit project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts to identify discrepancies and variances.
  • Verify that actual costs are aligned with approved estimates and contractual terms.

Compliance & Control:

  • Assess adherence to internal cost control policies, construction contracts, and engineering standards.
  • Ensure that project expenditures are authorized, justified, and properly documented.

Risk & Efficiency Review:

  • Identify cost inefficiencies, overpayments, material wastage, or billing irregularities.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance cost effectiveness and financial control.

Procurement & Subcontract Audits:

  • Audit procurement practices, subcontractor agreements, and supplier payments to ensure transparency and value for money.
  • Verify compliance with procurement policies and evaluate cost competitiveness.

Reporting & Follow-Up:

  • Prepare audit reports with clear findings, risk assessments, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project control, and finance teams to implement corrective actions.

Site Audits:

  • Conduct periodic audits at project sites to validate reported progress, resource use, and cost allocation.
  • Evaluate physical progress vs. financial progress to detect cost-performance mismatches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering)
  • Additional certifications in cost control, project management, or auditing are a strong advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project auditing, cost control, or project management is required but more than 5 years is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction project lifecycles, BOQs, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (PlanSwift, Excel, AutoCAD), cost management tools, and auditing standards.
  • Residing in or near Quezon City is an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
  • May require occasional travel to regional or international project locations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php35, Php40,000.00 per month
