About the role

We're a general contractor delivering federal and private projects in Saipan & Guam. We need a hands-on construction buyer who can read drawings/specs, interpret product data sheets, and order building materials correctly—from rebar and anchors to conduit, wire, breakers, fans, doors, hardware, paints, fasteners, sealants, and small tools. You'll own the full buyout cycle: RFQs → bid tab → submittals/compliance → PO → freight → delivery → closeout packet.

What you will do (end-to-end)

• Scope & clarify from BOMs, sketches, and field measurements; confirm dimensions, ratings, finishes, voltage, schedules, and accessories.
• Issue RFQs to PH/Guam/China/Vietnam vendors; get 3 compliant quotes (or write a sole-source memo).
• Build bid tabs with Unit Price, Freight, Lead Time, Total Landed Cost (TLC), Warranty, COO/BABA, UL/NRTL status; highlight exceptions.
• Read and compare product data sheets; verify model numbers, performance (CFM, kW, PSI, ASTM/UL standards), materials, coatings, and compatibility with our specs.
• Assemble submittals (cut sheets, samples when needed) and compliance packets (UL/NRTL, COO/BABA) for approval before award.
• Prepare POs in QuickBooks Online/Word/Excel; route per approval matrix; maintain vendor/item masters per project.
• Plan and coordinate freight (ocean/air) including packing lists, dims/weights, Incoterms, and ETAs; track to delivery in Saipan/Guam.
• Support receiving/GRN (photos & counts via Connecteam) and keep files organized in Dropbox by Project/PO.
• Prevent bait-and-switch: lock approved model numbers; re-quote if vendors substitute; document all deviations.
• Communicate via email/WhatsApp (always CC the project team) and post a weekly status (open RFQs, pending POs, ETAs, risks).

Minimum qualifications

• 2–5 years construction or MEP procurement/buying experience for a general contractor or subcontractor.
• Proven ability to read drawings/spec sections and evaluate product data sheets for compliance (UL/NRTL, ASTM, NEC/IBC references).
• Comfortable buying typical GC scope: concrete & rebar, masonry, metals, carpentry, finishes (paints/FRP), doors/hardware, electrical/MEP smalls, site/civil materials.
• Strong written English, vendor negotiation/follow-up discipline, and Excel/Sheets proficiency.
• Freight literacy: Incoterms, dims/weights, packing, transit time, and landed-cost thinking.
• Integrity & controls mindset: voice-verify bank changes, respect approval limits, and maintain clean documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping to Micronesia/Saipan/Guam; vendor network in PH/Guam/China/Vietnam.
• Familiar with BABA/COO workflows and government-funded job documentation.
• Basic estimating sense to spot quantity/spec gaps and propose alternates.

Pilot KPIs (first 60 days)

• RFQs sent ≤ 24 hours from request
• 3 compliant quotes (or sole-source memo) ≤ 72 hours
• PO cycle (request → approved PO) ≤ 2 business days
• Compliance packet complete ≥ 95%
• On-time delivery ≥ 90% vs vendor promise

How to apply

Pay: Php Php300.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
