The R&D Supervisor is responsible for leading product development, process improvement, and innovation initiatives in paper packaging manufacturing. The role supervises R&D activities to develop new packaging solutions, improve product quality, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate R&D projects focused on new packaging designs, materials, and processes.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Sales teams to align product development with market and customer needs.
  • Conduct research on raw materials, adhesives, coatings, and sustainable packaging technologies.
  • Ensure proper testing, sampling, and evaluation of new packaging products.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Document R&D results, prepare technical reports, and recommend solutions for product development.
  • Train and guide R&D staff to ensure innovation and technical competence.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards during R&D activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of R&D experience in manufacturing, preferably in paper or packaging or offset printing
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design, and production processes.
  • Skilled in using design applications as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator etc
  • Background in sustainability and eco-friendly packaging solutions is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
