We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our client's Australian company in a permanent, full-time remote position. Your Key Responsibilities:

• Manage complete bookkeeping and accounting functions using Xero accounting software
• Process and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly bank transactions
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and manage GST compliance
• Handle full-cycle Accounts Payable and Receivable processes
• Process Australian payroll including superannuation, payroll tax, and work cover
• Prepare monthly management reports and cashflow analysis
• Coordinate with external accountants for compliance matters
• Maintain accurate chart of accounts and general ledger entries
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience with Australian firms (direct or BPO)
• Expert proficiency in Xero - including bank reconciliation, payroll, and reporting modules
• Demonstrated experience with BAS preparation and GST compliance
• Strong understanding of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup
• Available to work during Australian business hours

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience with Australian accounting firms or servicing Australian clients through BPO
• Knowledge of Australian income tax for individuals, trusts, and companies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Professional approach to remote work
