Data Center Administrator- Full Onsite

Job Summary

The Data Center Administrator role is to help enable the company make their jobs efficient thru technology and to manage and secure the information systems of the company.

The Data Center Administrator handles the full life cycle of Servers including the installation, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of all units within the Head Office to ensure its efficiency and availability.

The Data Center Administrator proposes the procurement of servers or outsourcing of infrastructure needed for all software required by operations; ensures high availability of Servers and implements an effective disaster recovery system and procedure for all servers and systems within it Essential

Duties and Responsibilities

A. Cloud and On-Premise Server Evaluation and Management

Recommends the best-fit server landscape whether On-premise (virtual or physical) or cloud-based by considering cost, maintenance, scalability, reliability, technology (latest or best of breed and its continuity) and all other facets of server administration

Stays up-to-date on the latest technology and trends on server administration

Handles the cost-benefit analysis when purchasing servers or engaging in infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS)

Evaluates and recommends server setup whether virtual and physical

Recommends the virtualization tools needed to optimize server usage at minimal cost

For Cloud-based

Evaluates and recommends the best server host or partner who can provide Iaas Reviews and recommends when to add/reduce resources to optimize the cost for on-demand resources

System and Server Administration

Installs and manages all servers including operating systems, I/O channels, printers, databases etc; or coordinates with vendors for the installation and configuration of the mentioned devices

Ensures that there are separate servers of instances for Development/ Quality Assurance (QA) apart from the Production server; Development and QA may or may not be the same server and will be defined as needed; ensures also that the Development and QA servers contains the same configuration as the production environment and that data is from the most recent backup Ensures that all servers are backed up regularly and that all backups are working and usable in the event that it will be needed Manages server security and ensures that only authorized users can access the servers

Data Center Asset Management

Handles the procurement of new servers and budgeting replacement servers upon full depreciation or end of life

Ensures that all servers are covered by a maintenance agreement

Manages the inventory of servers, storages, power source, UPS and all other equipment in the data center

Manages the disposal of data center equipment and peripherals and all other IT equipment Performs routine check on all Data Center Equipment; ensures that the data center environment is kept at its ideal state (temperature, cooling units are working, moisture is absent, cleanliness, etc.)

Handles required tasks in cases of Power shutdowns, both planned and unplanned including coordination with the building admin, emergency shutdown of systems, etc.

Notifies concerned IT teams and end-users for any problem requiring their attention

Security and Compliance

Enforces Network, Email and Internet Policies; conducts regular audits/ checks of all units Helps ensure compliance to all internal IT policies Network Policies, Office Computing Policies, Email and Internet Policies and Mobile Computing and Mobile Storage Device Policy; conducts regular audits/ checks of all units

Helps ensure compliance to all external regulatory requirements regarding security and software licenses.

Technical Support

Provides first line technical support for Hardware and Infrastructure related issues Coordinates with vendors for warranties and repairs and ensures that all Server and Network Devices are covered by maintenance agreement

Ensure that daily schedules jobs are running provided it has been turned over by the Business systems group after the implementation phase

Ensure that all technical requirements needed for the software to run are met including internet connection, IP address assignment if applicable, PC specs (Hard disk space, OS, etc), pre-requisite software (such as SQL, anti-virus), etc

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in any IT related course, i.e., Engineering, Computer Science, IT Technically knowledgeable in most common hardware and software systems used in the IT industry

Technically knowledgeable in most common network hardware, software and security appliances used in the industry today

Has an Analytical and thorough knowledge on network administration and troubleshooting Flexible, with good communication skills, passionate for work, team player

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php35, Php40,000.00 per month
