Job Summary
The Data Center Administrator ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of the company's servers and IT infrastructure. This role manages the full lifecycle of servers—from installation and configuration to maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The administrator also supports infrastructure planning, system availability, and disaster recovery procedures to keep business operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud and On-Premise Server Management
- Evaluate and recommend optimal server setups — on-premise (physical/virtual) or cloud-based — considering cost, scalability, reliability, and technology.
- Stay updated with the latest server technologies and industry trends.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis for purchasing or outsourcing infrastructure (IaaS).
- Oversee server installation, configuration, and virtualization to optimize usage.
- Manage cloud server resources, ensuring cost efficiency and reliability.
System and Server Administration
- Install, configure, and manage servers, databases, and network devices (or coordinate with vendors for setup).
- Maintain separate environments for development, QA, and production to ensure consistency and security.
- Perform regular data backups, test recovery processes, and ensure usability of stored data.
- Implement access controls and maintain server security for authorized users only.
Data Center Asset Management
- Oversee procurement, replacement, and budgeting for servers and related equipment.
- Maintain inventory of all data center assets including UPS, storage, and network devices.
- Conduct routine inspections to maintain an ideal environment (temperature, cleanliness, and humidity control).
- Handle planned and emergency power shutdowns and coordinate with relevant teams and building administration.
Security and Compliance
- Enforce network, email, and internet policies to maintain IT compliance.
- Conduct regular system audits and ensure adherence to internal IT and external regulatory standards.
- Ensure all software and hardware assets comply with licensing and security requirements.
Technical Support
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware and infrastructure-related issues.
- Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims, repairs, and maintenance agreements.
- Ensure technical requirements for business systems are met (network, software, security, and compatibility).
- Monitor daily job schedules and verify that systems run as expected after implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- At least 1 year work related experience
- Strong technical knowledge in hardware, software, and network systems.
- Experience in server and network administration, troubleshooting, and system security.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving technical issues.
- Flexible, communicative, and a collaborative team player.
- Willing to work fully onsite in Quezon City
