Basic Function

The Chief Accountant oversees the end-to-end financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant reporting of financial statements. This includes oversight of bank reconciliations, taxation compliance, expense and AP review, financial analysis, and audit coordination. The role plays a critical leadership function in mentoring the accounting team and ensuring integrity in both internal controls and external reporting obligations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, finalize, and review internal and external financial reports for key stakeholders including P&G, banks, and government agencies (e.g., BIR).

  2. Supervise and review daily bank reconciliations; ensure proper documentation and linkage of cash movements to sales, collections, and accounts receivable.

  3. Monitor and review all expense accounts, ensuring timely posting and accuracy of accounts payable balances.

  4. Conduct initial reviews and ensure timely compliance with BIR tax requirements including EWT, VAT, Income Tax, and relevant statutory reports.

  5. Accounts receivable (AR) management and regular review with AR Point Person. This includes monitoring DSO, evaluating collector's incentives review, and timely collection of EWT Certificates.

  6. Review and validate pricing schedules to support sales and operations decisions.

  7. Provide accurate and timely account balances and financial data to the Finance Manager for monthly budget variance analysis and internal/external audit support.

  8. Lead and mentor accounting team members; conduct performance appraisals, identify development needs, and ensure adherence to professional standards.

  9. Perform other finance-related tasks and special assignments as delegated by senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
