Job Summary:

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company's overall accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reports, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves supervising accounting staff, managing budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing strategic financial insights to support management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Monitor cash flow, budget performance, and financial transactions.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, systems, and procedures to improve efficiency and control.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, government regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field (CPA license is required).
  • Experience:
    At least
    5–7 years
    of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with
    at least 2 years
    in a supervisory or managerial role.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with problem-solving skills.
