The Site Rebar Engineer is responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating all rebar (reinforcement steel) activities on construction sites. This includes reviewing structural drawings, preparing bending schedules, ensuring accurate placement of reinforcement, and monitoring quality and compliance with NSCP, DPWH, and project specifications.

The role is critical to ensuring the structural integrity of concrete elements in buildings, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review structural drawings, design calculations, and specifications for reinforcement requirements.
  • Prepare detailed rebar bending schedules and bar lists for all concrete elements (beams, columns, slabs, foundations).
  • Supervise the cutting, bending, and placement of reinforcement bars on site.
  • Ensure proper installation according to design drawings, standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with the structural engineer, site engineers, foremen, and contractors.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with NSCP, ACI standards, and local building codes.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
  • Assist in material take-offs, inventory control, and reporting of reinforcement usage.
  • Ensure safety standards are followed during rebar handling and installation.
  • Provide technical support during inspections, audits, and client visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC) preferred, but relevant experience may be acceptable.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in rebar detailing, supervision, or structural construction.
  • Proficient in rebar detailing software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Tekla Structures) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of NSCP, ACI, and local building codes.
  • Knowledge of concrete construction methods and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings accurately.
