The Structural Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, and review of structural systems for various infrastructure and building projects, ensuring compliance and other relevant standards. The role involves collaboration with architects, civil engineers, and construction teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and sustainable designs.

For energy or industrial projects (e.g., Waste-to-Energy plants), the Structural Engineer ensures that all structural elements are designed to accommodate heavy equipment loads, seismic conditions, and environmental factors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design of buildings, foundations, and support structures using NSCP, ACI, AISC, and related standards.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, design calculations, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify design implementation and structural integrity.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical).
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and material approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, DPWH guidelines, and project safety standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of project estimates, BOQs, and structural design reports.
  • Provide technical support during construction, addressing design-related issues.
  • Evaluate structural modifications or retrofitting solutions for existing facilities.
  • Prepare and submit documentation for building permits and LGU approvals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Must be a Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC).
  • Minimum 3–8 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
  • Proficient in design software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, AutoCAD, or Revit.
  • In-depth knowledge of NSCP, ACI, AISC, and local building codes.
  • Experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects (experience in WTE or energy projects is an advantage).
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and load analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
