Special Projects:Supporting new business development proposals by meeting with clients to understand their needs, supporting any new client preliminary trials and explaining the service we offer

Contributing to the overall performance of the business by initiating and delivering projects that benefit our operations

Spend time learning deeply about the needs of the client, then recommend and implement process improvements that solve problems or save time for our clients, staff or save

Other:Provide inputs into new staff job descriptions, key performance indicators (KPIs) for tax/accounting roles

Co-interview with the Team Leaders to assess tax/accounting candidate competencies for the role

Driving high performance culture and positive working environment

Other duties as required

We'd like you to know how to do the following things, so that you can be a great support to our tax and accounting teams:Preparation of income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and corporate entities in accordance with Australian taxation rules

Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS's) and installment activity statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts and companies;Accounting; including financial reporting, management reporting, entry data and journal entries into accounting systems (eg Xero)Preparing GST, CGT calculations and tax reconciliations at the end of the financial year to ensure clients pay the correct tax

Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) calculations and salary packaging reviewsPayrollMaintaining up-to-date knowledge on current relevant Australian Tax Office (ATO) legislation and issuances, and Australian Accounting Standards. This is a remote position.
