Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Intermediate Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping functions for an Australian business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Xero, BAS preparation, and payroll management, and be capable of working independently while maintaining high accuracy and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage entries in the chart of accounts
  • Process general accounting entries using Xero or similar software
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly bank and eBank reconciliations
  • Handle Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Support month-end closing and financial statement preparation
  • Issue, track, and reconcile invoices
  • Perform data entry in business systems and the Xero platform
  • Manage payroll, including contractor incentives, superannuation, payroll tax, and work cover obligations
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) in coordination with external accountants
  • Monitor and report on company cashflow
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (Directors, Accountants, Contractors)
  • Complete ad hoc administrative and financial tasks as directed

Skills and Competencies

  • Solid experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Proficiency in Xero (mandatory)
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • High attention to detail, initiative, and confidence
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently

Educational Background

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, or Finance
  • Acceptable: Candidates with strong practical experience and relevant certifications (e.g., NC III Bookkeeping, Xero Advisor Certification)

Experience Requirement (Philippine Talent Market)

  • Minimum: 3–4 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping and accounting
  • Ideal: 3+ years of experience, including exposure to Australian accounting standards, BAS preparation, and Xero
  • Candidates with remote work experience for AU clients or BPO/shared services setups are highly preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php35, Php45,000.00 per month
