Core responsibilities

  • Staff management: Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising both front-of-house and back-of-house staff. This includes performance appraisals and handling staff conflicts.
  • Financial management: Creating budgets, tracking revenue and expenses, managing payroll, and controlling costs to maximize profit.
  • Inventory and supply chain: Ordering supplies, managing inventory levels, and coordinating with vendors and suppliers.
  • Customer service: Ensuring a high-quality customer experience, handling customer complaints and feedback, and developing strategies to improve service.
  • Operations and compliance: Overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth service, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring full compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Quality control: Monitoring food quality, presentation, and overall service standards.
  • Strategic planning: Developing and implementing new procedures and strategies to improve efficiency and business performance.

Qualifications and skills

  • Proven experience in the food service or hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage trends.
  • Ability to handle multitasking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Food handler certification may be required.
