A Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall smooth operation of a swimming pool area. This includes tasks like monitoring pool activities, enforcing rules, cleaning the pool and surrounding areas, performing water quality tests, and providing customer service to guests. They may also be involved in setting up pool furniture and other amenities.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Security:

  • Monitoring pool activities to ensure guest safety and adherence to pool rules.
  • Enforcing rules and regulations, such as those related to diving, running, or food and drink consumption.
  • Responding to emergencies, providing first aid, and summoning help when necessary.
  • Conducting routine pool safety checks.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the pool area, including the pool deck, restrooms, and surrounding spaces.
  • Performing routine water quality tests and adjusting chemical levels as needed.
  • Cleaning the pool, removing debris, and ensuring the pool and equipment are in good working order.
  • Proper maintenance of pool equipment.

Customer Service:

  • Assisting guests with inquiries and providing information about pool rules, schedules, and amenities.
  • Providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Other Duties:

  • Maintaining accurate records of pool statistics, such as water quality and cleaning schedules.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, including closing procedures and equipment storage.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and water chemistry.
  • Ability to enforce rules and regulations effectively.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and provide first aid.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including high heat and humidity.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina.
