Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor the operation of mechanical, plumbing and electrical facilities of the hotel.
  • Monitors the operations of all mechanical equipment to ensure that all are in proper working order.
  • Conduct routine checks in the areas of the building where mechanical equipment are located, such as the chiller plant room and cooling tower, LPG tank farm, generator room, AHU room, pool pump room, cistern tanks and pump room, fire pump rooms, and elevator machine room.
  • Ensures readiness of firefighting and safety equipment at all times and provides guidance to other departments.
  • Carries out immediate repair of equipment, including standby, and ensures readiness when needed.
  • Ensures immediate provision of services to guests and other operating departments.
  • Attends immediately to and ensures the completion of emergency repairs.
  • Initiates attendance to emergency calls immediately, in all phases of engineering works.
  • Coordinates and cooperates with other engineering staff where necessary.
  • Strictly observes energy conservation procedures at all times.
  • Ensures coordination with other operating departments in the implementation of repair and maintenance schedules.
  • Performs daily rounds of inspection in the entire building and observe closely the condition of all operating facilities and equipment.
  • Ensures that all standby units are readily available for operation.
  • Reports immediately to his superior all defects and deficiencies noticed during inspection and, without delay, commence the immediate rectification.
  • Record all mechanical operation parameters in the plant logbook.
  • Controls effective daily consumption and materials utilization.
  • Reports the completion of all projects and work assignments.
  • Keeps updated on all projects or activity status within the department.
  • Maintains logbook of activities with accurate time and details.
  • Assists the Duty Engineer and Engineering Manager in periodic maintenance check- ups and repairs.
  • Follows strictly all policies and procedures of the hotel and the Engineering Department.
  • Keeps a close watch on spare parts/supplies required and advises the Shift Duty Engineer beforehand to reorder, in order to have at any time the expected replacement parts/supplies at hand .
  • Observes all safety measures and work procedures in all works.
  • Ensures that all assigned works are completed according to schedule and priority.
  • Ensures proper utilization of equipment and provides guidance to other departments.
  • Responds and makes himself available for any call by his superiors during emergencies , troubles, or calamities.
  • Performs any other work and related functions, as may be assigned by his superior, to accomplish a smooth operation and maintenance of the hotel.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer/Licensed Electrical Engineer, preferably Mechanical Engineer.
  • At least 3-year experience in Hotel and Resort or Integrated Resort as Plant Attendant.
  • Experienced in Operating and Maintaining the following HVAC and Electrical Systems: power generators, power substation, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, sewage treatment plant, boilers, air handling units, fire pumps, FDAS, BMS, UPS for critical equipment, and energy utility and management.
