The Employee Relations Officer is responsible for fostering a positive workplace environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, and promoting effective communication between employees and management. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high levels of employee engagement, satisfaction, and productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary issues.
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies, procedures, and labor laws.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records related to employee relations cases.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Monitor employee morale and advise management on potential issues or trends.
  • Work closely with the HR team to align employee relations practices with overall HR and business goals.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training sessions on workplace conduct, conflict resolution, and communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, HR generalist, or a related role (typically 2+ years).
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems.
