Job Summary:
The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for providing support in a medical facility by managing incoming calls, confirming patient demographic information, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Screening Criteria
• Highschool diploma or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
• At least two (2) years' experience in handling inbound/outbound calls.
• Must have a stable employment history.
Job Description
• Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, providing excellent customer service to patients and other callers.
• Verify and confirm patient demographic information, including address, date of birth, and date of injury, with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Transfer calls to appropriate departments or individuals as needed, ensuring smooth and efficient communication flow.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and always adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Assist patients with inquiries, provide basic information about services offered, and direct them to appropriate resources.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, collecting necessary paperwork and insurance information.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately.
• Collaborate effectively with medical staff and colleagues to ensure optimal patient care and operational efficiency.
• Assist with other administrative duties and projects as assigned by supervisors or management.
Required Qualifications
• Clear and coherent in both verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and solutions to customers.
• Maintain a professional and customer-friendly demeanor in all customer-facing interactions, ensuring a positive representation of the company.
• Ability to adapt to various customer scenarios and challenges, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in addressing unique customer needs.
• Willingness to take on other duties as assigned, showcasing a versatile and proactive approach to contributing to the team's overall success.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in using computer systems, electronic health records (EHR), and basic office software.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
