About the role

Equicom Solutions Inc. is seeking an exceptional and driven Senior Manager of Business Development to lead the commercial function as the Head of Commercial. This is a pivotal role within the organisation, responsible for driving new business growth and partnerships to support the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and possess a proven track record of success in sales and commercial management within the Sales and New Business Development industries.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales and business development strategies to identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities
  • Manage a team of business development professionals, providing coaching, mentorship and strategic direction to drive results
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, leveraging your extensive network and industry knowledge
  • Negotiate and close high-value deals, ensuring alignment with the company's commercial objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support the delivery of solutions to new and existing clients
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback to inform the company's commercial strategy
  • Develop and present impactful sales proposals and presentations to senior stakeholders
  • Champion a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement within the commercial function

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a senior business development or commercial management role, preferably within the Sales and New Business Development industries
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team, with strong coaching and mentorship skills
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing and closing new business opportunities, with a strong commercial acumen
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and use it to inform strategic decision-making
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling sales pitches to senior stakeholders
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or a related field, or equivalent experience
