Job Overview

The QAQC BIM Job Captain is responsible for performing BIM quality control to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of models with company and project standards. This position reports directly to the BIM Manager and focuses on reviewing and maintaining the quality and correctness of BIM outputs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of the BIM Manager.
  • Supervise and review the work of BIM Modelers.
  • Check BIM models against AEC drawings and provide comments or corrections.
  • Conduct model reviews to ensure compliance with standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), and project workflows.
  • Identify and report clashes and design-related issues.
  • Assist in creating and updating project templates to align with standards.
  • Develop custom Revit families with shared parameters based on project requirements.
  • Ensure proper use of shared coordinates in all projects.
  • Support the BIM Manager in documenting updates to project standards and procedures.
  • Assist in training and mentoring BIM Modelers and Job Captains.
  • Contribute to the development of BEPs and Task Information Delivery Plans (TIDPs).

Qualifications

  • Licensed professional in any AEC discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in BIM.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in design or on-site work.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software.
  • Strong knowledge of plan reading across all AEC disciplines.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
