What You'll Be Doing
As a Purchasing and Inventory Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting purchasing and inventory operations, ensuring accurate data management and seamless coordination with both suppliers and internal teams. You'll be reporting to an Australian manager and working closely with a collaborative and supportive team.
Your responsibilities will include:
● Creating and updating product inbound shipments within NetSuite CRM/ERP with external shipping and manufacturing partners.
● Working with internal teams to create new part numbers within NetSuite CRM/ERP.
● Generating searches and reports, and performing general NetSuite clean-up tasks.
● Researching potential vendors, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of items.
● Conducting market research to identify pricing trends.
● Evaluating offers from vendors and negotiating better prices.
● Preparing cost analyses and following up with suppliers to confirm or amend orders.
● Liaising with warehouse staff to ensure products arrive in good condition.
● Assisting the National Inventory Manager with ad hoc purchasing and inventory tasks.
What You'll Bring
● 1–2 years of experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer, or in a similar role.
● Good understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.
● Experience using NetSuite (required); experience with Netstock (an advantage but not required).
● Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
● Strong organisational and business negotiation skills.
● High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently.
● Excellent communication skills and confidence collaborating across multiple stakeholders.
● A positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to grow within the role.
