About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Business Development Manager to drive our commercial and industrial (C&I) Solar PV expansion in the Philippines. This is a senior individual contributor role, you will lead high-level business development initiatives, negotiations, and project acquisition efforts.
You will engage large commercial clients, develop strategic partnerships, lead proposal development, and close renewable energy projects ranging from rooftop solar to utility-scale opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for C&I Solar PV, hybrid systems, and RE solutions.
- Drive end-to-end sales activities, from prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Conduct market mapping, targeting key sectors (manufacturing, agribusiness, healthcare, education, tourism).
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads through industry networks and strategic outreach.
- Lead the preparation of customized technical and financial proposals with engineering and finance teams.
- Negotiate commercial terms, client expectations, and project conditions with senior decision-makers.
- Enhance and standardize sales processes including CRM (Zoho), lead tracking, and after-sales engagement.
- Develop and update business plans, forecasts, and sales performance reports.
- Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for customers and industry segments.
- Build strong client relationships, conduct proper KYC, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Track policy, regulatory, and market changes to identify early opportunities.
- Support joint venture and consortium development for strategic projects.
- Coordinate with international teams to leverage regional pipeline synergies.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in project development, business development, financing, marketing, or operations in key Philippine industries (manufacturing, agribusiness, healthcare, education, tourism).
- Experience in solar PV or renewable energy is a strong advantage.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently, (no team management responsibility), but capable of guiding junior colleagues when needed.
- Proven ability to engage and present to mid- and senior-level executives.
- Strong networking, negotiation, and partnership-building skills.
- Solid understanding of financial data and ability to present it effectively to clients.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Tagalog (oral and written).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with Zoho CRM and digital BD tools is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-border teams in a multicultural environment.
