Role Overview
The Marketing Manager for Household Goods is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing marketing strategies tailored to non‑food household products. The goal is to build brand awareness, drive product demand, increase market share, and support sales through both traditional and digital channels. You'll work cross‑functionally with product, sales, supply chain, and creative teams to ensure the products stand out, meet customer needs, and are well‑positioned in the market.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy & Planning
• Develop annual and quarterly marketing plans for the household goods product portfolio, aligned with business goals (growth, profitability, market expansion).
• Conduct market research and consumer insights gathering: understand customer needs, purchase behavior, trends in home / household goods.
• Analyze competitor offerings, pricing, packaging, merchandising to find opportunities to differentiate. - Brand & Product Positioning
• Define value propositions, messaging, and brand positioning for each product line.
• Maintain and enforce brand identity and visual standards across all product lines, packaging, promotions.
• Work with design / packaging teams to develop attractive, functional, and cost‑effective packaging. - Campaigns & Promotions
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns (both digital & offline) to launch new products, promote existing lines, seasonal pushes, etc.
• Manage promotional materials: catalogs, brochures, banners, POS displays, signage.
• Coordinate product demonstrations, trade shows, exhibitions, partnerships, events relevant to home / consumer trade. - Digital & E‑Commerce Marketing
• Oversee e‑commerce / online channel marketing: product listings, imagery, descriptions, user reviews.
• Lead digital marketing initiatives: social media, email marketing, paid ads, search engine marketing / SEO.
• Optimize website/online store experience: usability, product findability, navigation, conversion. - Retail & Distribution Enablement
• Work with sales / distribution to support retailers or dealers: merchandising strategies, retail promotions, point‑of‑sale materials.
• Monitor stock levels, supply chain lead times, and coordinate with logistics to align marketing plans with availability. - Budget & Resource Management
• Develop & manage marketing budgets; ensure efficient spend.
• Negotiate with vendors, agencies, printers, etc. for cost efficiencies. - Measurement & Optimization
• Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for marketing effectiveness: brand awareness, product sales, margins, conversion rates, return on ad spend, etc.
• Monitor campaign performance; analyze results; adjust strategy or tactics based on learnings. - Team & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Lead or mentor junior marketing staff or external partners.
• Work closely with product development / R&D to feed market feedback, suggest improvements / new product ideas.
• Collaborate with sales, supply chain, operations to ensure alignment (e.g. product availability, delivery, quality).
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- Experience: Typically 3‑5 years of marketing experience, ideally in consumer/non‑food household goods, appliances, furniture, décor, home improvement, consumer durables.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle and retail / dealer distribution channels.
- Solid experience in digital marketing, e‑commerce platforms, marketplace channels (if relevant).
- Good knowledge of packaging, product design, and merchandising.
- Data‑driven: ability to use metrics & analytics to guide decisions. Familiar with tools like Google Analytics, ad‑platforms dashboards, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Project management: able to manage multiple projects/campaigns at once, prioritizing under tight deadlines.
