Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine pastry and dessert recipes aligned with the company's concept, brand, and market trends.
  • Consult on pastry menu design, portioning, costing, and presentation standards.
  • Train kitchen and pastry staff on techniques, consistency, and quality control.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment, ingredient sourcing, and kitchen layout optimization.
  • Evaluate existing pastry operations and suggest improvements in workflow, production, and product shelf life.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Stay current with pastry and dessert trends, ingredients, and plating styles.
  • Collaborate with management and culinary teams to develop seasonal or special-event menus.
  • Conduct product testing and quality assurance for new dessert lines.
  • Offer expert advice on scaling recipes for commercial production or retail packaging.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Consultant (minimum 3-5 years).
  • Strong background in classic and contemporary pastry arts.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of bakery production systems and costing methods.
  • Work three times a week.
  • Culinary or Pastry Arts certification preferred.
