Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine pastry and dessert recipes aligned with the company's concept, brand, and market trends.
- Consult on pastry menu design, portioning, costing, and presentation standards.
- Train kitchen and pastry staff on techniques, consistency, and quality control.
- Provide recommendations for equipment, ingredient sourcing, and kitchen layout optimization.
- Evaluate existing pastry operations and suggest improvements in workflow, production, and product shelf life.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Stay current with pastry and dessert trends, ingredients, and plating styles.
- Collaborate with management and culinary teams to develop seasonal or special-event menus.
- Conduct product testing and quality assurance for new dessert lines.
- Offer expert advice on scaling recipes for commercial production or retail packaging.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Consultant (minimum 3-5 years).
- Strong background in classic and contemporary pastry arts.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of bakery production systems and costing methods.
- Work three times a week.
- Culinary or Pastry Arts certification preferred.
