Warehouse Officer (Construction Company)

The Warehouse Officer is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, issuance, and safekeeping of construction materials, tools, and equipment at the project site. He/She ensures proper documentation, inventory accuracy, and compliance with company policies to support smooth site operations.

Detailed Job Description

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, organizing, and issuing construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory system through proper recording, tagging, and monitoring of all stock movements.
  • Coordinate with procurement and site engineers regarding material requests, deliveries, and stock replenishment.
  • Ensure that materials are stored in safe, secure, and organized conditions to prevent damage, loss, or pilferage.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies in coordination with accounting/finance.
  • Prepare and maintain warehouse documents such as delivery receipts, withdrawal slips, stock cards, and inventory reports.
  • Monitor the proper use and return of company-issued tools and equipment.
  • Implement warehouse safety standards and cleanliness in compliance with company policies and occupational safety regulations.
  • Supervise warehouse helpers and coordinate with logistics personnel for delivery and dispatch of materials to project sites.
  • Support audit activities and provide accurate records when required.Qualifications – Warehouse Officer (Construction Company)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related course.
  • Vocational or technical background in warehousing/logistics may be acceptable with strong experience.

Experience:

  • At least 2–3 years experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a construction or engineering company.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, material handling, and storage procedures.
  • Experience in construction materials, tools, and equipment management is an advantage.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word); knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of procurement and logistics coordination.
  • Familiar with safety standards in handling and storing construction materials.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret inventory reports, stock cards, and documentation.

Other Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to perform warehouse duties.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledgeable in basic Chinese language is a must.
  • High sense of responsibility, honesty, and attention to detail.
  • Willing to work on-site and adapt to the demands of construction projects.
