Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer with strong knowledge of IFS ERP (Industrial and Financial Systems) to join our procurement team. The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards. The ideal candidate will combine excellent negotiation skills with hands-on experience in IFS to optimize purchasing processes and support overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management
Execute purchase requisitions, prepare purchase orders, and manage approvals using IFS ERP.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable delivery.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, and performance data within IFS.
Vendor & Supplier Relations
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to build long-term partnerships.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
- Conduct supplier audits and evaluations when required.
Cost & Inventory Control
Support cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for savings.
- Collaborate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure materials availability and efficient stock management.
- Track and report on procurement KPIs (lead time, cost savings, supplier reliability).
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Generate purchasing and supplier performance reports through IFS for management review.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and procurement plans.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of procurement/purchasing experience, with proven knowledge of IFS ERP.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of contract law and procurement best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is an advantage.
