Job Summary:The Sales and Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing key client relationships across food manufacturing, commissary services, catering, and retail channels. This role focuses on market expansion, client acquisition, contract negotiation, and collaboration with operations to deliver profitable and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:1. Business Development & Market Expansion
Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities in:
Corporate catering and food service
- Hospitals, schools, and institutions
- Retail food concepts and cloud kitchens
- B2B meal plans and contract manufacturing
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and pricing benchmarks.
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth plans.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and forecasting reports.
- Develop sales targets, revenue projections, and growth plans.
- Drive end-to-end sales cycle: lead generation, presentation, proposal, negotiation, and closing.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and bid documents.
- Ensure pricing structures are competitive, profitable, and aligned with cost controls.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
- Act as the primary point of contact for major accounts and long-term contracts.
- Coordinate with Operations, QA, and Finance to ensure service delivery meets client expectations.
- Handle contract renewals, upselling, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Lead participation in RFPs, RFQs, and bidding processes for institutional clients.
- Review and negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and commercial terms.
- Work closely with Legal, Finance, and Operations to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Ensure proper handover of signed contracts to Operations and Support Teams.
- Coordinate with Production, Commissary, R&D, QA, and Logistics for feasibility and costing.
- Support new product launches and customized client solutions.
- Ensure alignment between sales commitments and operational capabilities.
- Provide client feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Track sales performance, KPIs, and conversion rates.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and management presentations.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
- Recommend strategies to improve customer acquisition and retention.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Management, or related field.
At least 5–7 years of experience in Sales and Business Development, preferably in:
Food manufacturing or commissary operations
- Catering, hospitality, or institutional food service
- Retail food or FMCG
- Proven track record in closing B2B contracts and long-term service agreements.
- Experience handling institutional clients (hospitals, schools, corporates) is an advantage.
- Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and proposal writing abilities.
- Strong business acumen and financial understanding (pricing, margins, cost drivers).
- Strategic thinker with execution focus.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, QA, Finance, and Management.
- Results-driven, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in CRM tools, MS Office, and Google Workspace.
- Experience in food service bidding and government or private institutional contracts.
- Background in launching new food concepts or expanding retail footprint.
- Network within healthcare, corporate catering, or food service industries.
