Overview of the Position

The Accounting Manager serves as a strategic financial partner and key leader, responsible for safeguarding the organization's assets and ensuring the absolute integrity of all financial reporting. This pivotal role is tasked with driving the development and execution of robust accounting policies, establishing and maintaining best-in-class internal controls, and optimizing financial processes to ensure strict compliance and superior execution of revenue objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to financial management, including:

· Develop and implement advanced accounting organizational strategies by contributing expert financial information, analysis, and recommendations to executive leadership, ensuring functional objectives align with overarching organizational goals.

· Manage the full cycle of the general accounting function, including supervising the accurate and timely completion of all ledger accounts and financial statements.

· Evaluate, design, and implement continuous improvements to internal accounting processes and controls, ensuring best practices and operational efficiency across the organization.

· Coordinate the preparation of comprehensive budgets and forecasts, consolidating financial data and providing strategic guidance to department heads on data analysis and collection.

· Lead efforts to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial operations while safeguarding organizational assets through robust internal controls.

· Minimize legal tax exposure by meticulously studying regulations, developing strategic tax plans, and overseeing the accurate filing of all returns.

· Lead, direct, and mentor the accounting team, relying on extensive professional experience and judgment to plan and achieve departmental objectives.

· Oversee financial aspects of contracts, providing oversight and reporting related to financial planning and risk management.

· Proactively forecast cash requirements and obligations to ensure the maintenance of sufficient operating funds.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience: At least 7+ years of progressive, relevant experience in accounting, with proven leadership experience.

Skills & Expertise

· Technical Proficiency: Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel skills are essential).

· Software Knowledge: Working knowledge of modern Accounting and Payroll software systems.

· Audit Experience: Demonstrated experience preparing information for and managing financial audits.

· Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective internal and external reporting.

· Prioritization: Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize and manage concurrent demands with flexibility.

· Accuracy: Ability to work with exceptional accuracy, close attention to detail, and maintain strict confidentiality.
