About the role. . .

• As a Senior Bookkeeper within our Business Advisory division, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality client services. You will manage key bookkeeping and payroll tasks while building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients. Your responsibilities will extend across financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiencies, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables to a portfolio of small to mid-sized clients.
• This role involves collaborating closely with internal staff, external service providers, and directly with clients, combining technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Finance Management:

• Raise and process client invoices and payments in MYOB/Xero/Quickbooks.

• Reconcile bank accounts, loan accounts, and prepare draft financial statements.

• Generate additional client reports and assist in preparing financial budgets if required.

• Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Process supplier invoices into payment runs while ensuring proper authorisation.

• Oversee customer payment tracking and overdue accounts, including phone, email, and letter follow-ups.

• Payroll Administration:

• Process employee pays and distribute pay slips while maintaining accurate leave accrual records.

• Manage payroll compliance: PAYG, superannuation, WorkCover, and payroll tax processing and reconciliation.

• Compliance & Collaboration:

• Work closely with William Buck accountants to assist in preparing figures for compliance tasks, such as tax returns, activity statements, FBT, and more.

• Align all activities with internal policies and external regulations.

• Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline operational efficiencies and enhance the client experience.

• Software Proficiency:

• Operate seamlessly across platforms, including Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Workflow Max, and more

• We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• As a Senior Bookkeeper, you're a cornerstone of our commitment to delivering exceptional client service while maintaining operational excellence.
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Certification in cashbook programs (e.g., Xero or QuickBooks).
• Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience is essential.
• Payroll experience, with knowledge of Modern Awards and workplace agreements, is advantageous.

Core Technical Skills:

• A strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Proficiency in accounting and reporting systems (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong analytical capabilities.
