Bookkeeper (Canada & USA) — Remote

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and reliable
Bookkeeper
to manage accounting operations for our
Canada and USA
entities. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently across multiple time zones. You'll play a key role in keeping our financials accurate, compliant, and up to date as we continue to scale globally.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for both Canada and USA operations
  • Record daily transactions (expenses, invoices, payments, payroll entries, etc.)
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and vendor accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with tax and compliance filings
  • Collaborate with management to ensure timely payments and expense tracking
  • Support financial audits and budgeting processes
  • Streamline bookkeeping workflows and suggest improvements

Requirements

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
    (preferably for North American entities)
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
    (or similar accounting software such as Xero or Wave)
  • Strong understanding of Canadian and U.S. accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working
    PST and EST zones.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multi-currency transactions
  • Familiarity with remote or startup environments
