JOB OVERVIEW:
The District Supervisor (DSO) is tasked to lead and manage a team of Pharmaceutical Representatives (PR) and to achieve sales targets, promote pharmaceutical products effectively, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. The DSO plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and market share within their assigned territory or team. The primary responsibilities and functions of a DSO are as follows:
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to their sales team. They set clear sales targets, performance goals, and strategies for achieving them.
Recruitment and Training: They are responsible for recruiting, training, and onboarding new Pharmaceutical Representatives. This includes ensuring that team members have the necessary product knowledge and sales skills.
Performance Management: Monitor the performance of their team members closely. They track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales revenue, market share, call activity, and customer engagement metrics. They provide feedback, coaching, and support to improve individual and team performance.
Territory Management: Oversee the allocation and management of sales territories within their region or team. They ensure that territories are balanced, and each representative covers the assigned area efficiently.
Market Analysis: Staying informed about pharmaceutical market trends, competitor activities, and changes in healthcare regulations is crucial. DS use this information to adapt sales strategies and provide market insights to their team.
Product Promotion: They work closely with Pharmaceutical Representatives to promote pharmaceutical products effectively. This includes coordinating promotional activities, ensuring product knowledge, and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, healthcare institutions, and local distributors is essential. Sales Managers often engage in high-level negotiations and partnership agreements.
Compliance: Ensuring that all sales and marketing activities within their team comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations, quality standards, and ethical guidelines is a primary responsibility. Sales Managers oversee compliance training and reporting.
Budget Management: Manage the budget for sales and marketing operations within their region or team. This includes allocating resources for promotional activities and team development.
Reporting: They provide regular reports to higher-level management on the performance of their team, market conditions, and strategic initiatives. Effective communication both upward and downward in the organization is crucial.
Product Launch Support: Play a role in supporting the successful launch of new pharmaceutical products or improvements to existing ones within their region or team.
Customer Support: They ensure that customers within their area receive adequate support and information about pharmaceutical products, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
The role of the DSO is to lead, manage, and optimize sales efforts within their assigned territory or team. The DSO plays a vital role in translating the company's strategic goals into actionable plans at the local level, contributing to the company's success in the pharmaceutical market.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of business studies, administration, management, or equivalent
- At least 2-3 years of experience in the same role/capacity (as District Manager)
- Strong leadership skills and proven and consistent track record of success in leasing a team to achieve sales goals/targets
High level of proficiency in recruiting, selecting, training and development of a dynamic sales team
Strong decision-making skills
- Drive for self-development and has action-oriented work ethic
