Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing inventory using various documents and systems, such as bin cards, stock cards, and inventory management systems.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts to reconcile physical stock with system records.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation using methods like FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or FEFO (First-Expiry, First-Out) to manage near-expiry items.
  • Monitor stock levels and alert management to low stock, potential shortages, or overstock situations.
  • Warehouse Operations:
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring they are handled correctly and stored efficiently.
  • Arrange and organize storage areas, shelves, and racks to optimize space utilization and accessibility.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers using manual or powered equipment, following safety procedures.
  • Process and prepare necessary documentation for outgoing shipments, including packing slips and labels.
  • Safety and Housekeeping:
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, orderliness, and sanitation within the warehouse.
  • Ensure the warehouse is secure and free from unauthorized access, rodents, and other pests.
  • Implement and enforce safety procedures and guidelines for warehouse staff and operations.
  • Reporting and Coordination:
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly and ad-hoc inventory and warehouse activity reports to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely receipt of supplies.
  • Communicate potential issues, such as inventory discrepancies or facility problems, to management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and counting.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Understanding of safety, health, and environmental (HSE) standards.
