Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Chef de Partie in managing a specific kitchen section. This role involves preparing ingredients, executing basic cooking techniques, and assisting with the smooth flow of kitchen operations. A key part of the culinary team, the Demi Chef de Partie upholds food quality and hygiene standards.
  • Assists in the preparation and execution of dishes in the assigned section.
  • Ensures mise en place is ready ahead of service.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the station.
  • Follows recipe and plating standards consistently.
  • Complies with all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Assists the Chef de Partie in supervising Commis Chefs or trainees.
  • Labels and stores ingredients properly following "first in and first out" and safety protocols.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions or stock shortages to the section head.
  • Participates in kitchen cleaning schedules and deep cleaning routines.
  • Supports smooth service during busy periods and shift changeovers.

Qualifications:

  • Completed culinary school training, food preparation internship, or apprenticeship.
  • With at least five (5) years experience is preferred.
  • Food Handler's Certificate in accordance with local health regulations.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
