Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing vegetables and meats.
Cook food items by different cooking methods as specified in recipes and standards.
Station Management:
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation at all times.
Compliance and Safety:
Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes, and ensure health and safety standards are followed.
Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, equipment, and other storage areas.
Team Collaboration:
Work with the team to ensure that food items are prepared consistently with high-quality standards.
Support other kitchen staff in their duties.
Participate in daily opening and closing procedures.
Inventory and Ordering:
Monitor product freshness and stock expiry.
Assist in the receiving and storage of delivered products.
Assist in inventory control and inventory management.
Qualifications:
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Cook, Restaurant Cook, or Prep Cook.
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
Familiarity with industry best practices.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to withstand hot temperatures and work in a high-pressure environment.
