
Business Development Manager – Film Distribution

Job Description:
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the company's film distribution-related services and projects. The role involves developing strategies to position the company in local and international markets, fostering strong industry relationships, and identifying opportunities for collaboration across film companies, production houses, agencies, and government sectors. A key aspect of the position is ensuring that films, media projects, and creative works are effectively brought to market through well-structured partnerships and initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to promote the company's filming services, resources, and project opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong networks with film companies, production houses, agencies, and local government units to generate partnerships and collaborations.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for local and international film projects, ensuring alignment with the company's growth objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to client and partner needs.
- Support the creation of distribution channels and ensure that film projects are effectively positioned in the right markets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry movements to recommend innovative approaches to strengthen the company's market presence.
- Assist in licensing and technical requirements for film delivery in different regions/platforms.
- Represent the company in industry events, forums, and networking activities to expand visibility and credibility.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, partnerships, and project progress for management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Film, Media Studies, or a related field.
- At least 2–4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales (preferably in the film, media, or entertainment industry).
- Strong understanding of film distribution processes and industry dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders across different sectors.
- Proven track record in negotiating, closing deals, and driving growth initiatives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally for meetings, events, and project engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with or within major Philippine film and TV networks such as ABS-CBN, GMA Network, or TV5, or with other local film production houses such as Regal Entertainment, Viva Films, and TBA Studios, etc.
- Background in managing partnerships and projects within the Philippine entertainment industry.
- Established connections with industry professionals, content creators, and government cultural agencies.
- Familiarity with both traditional and digital distribution platforms in the Philippines.
