Fixed Asset Accountant

Schedule: Monday - Friday (07:00 AM - 04:00 PM PHT)

What are we looking for?

Skills Required:

• More than three (3) years' experience in Fixed Asset accounting
• Hands-on experience in SAP BW is required; Blackline is a plus
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Agile and can work well under pressure

What will you do?Primarily responsible for the integrity and maintenance of the fixed asset register and in turn, the depreciations lines of the P&L. Administration of other P&L lines which includes but not limited to recognition of insurance claims, expendable equipment usage, non-operation costs and other lines assigned by the Financial Accounting Manager. Provide accounting support through the completion of the month end process, including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Maintenance of the fixed asset register, including processing additions, disposals and depreciation in accordance with the Fixed Asset Policy.
• Preparation of the fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Providing effective analysis and explanation of any variances in depreciation expense compared to budget and forecast.
• Maintain the capital projects work-in-progress account, including processing additions in a timely manner and liaising with the business stakeholders regarding aged items.
• Creation and closure of project codes in SAP.
• Co-ordination of monthly fixed asset accounts across all stores and processing disposals in the fixed asset register
• Responsible for the non-operational expenditure account and associated accruals.
• Regular liaison with key stakeholders across the business and follow up of invoices.
• Provide effective analysis, recommendations & explanation of any variances to budget, forecast and prior year
• Responsible for the expendable equipment account and associated accruals which requires regular communication with key stakeholders.
• Preparation of budget and forecast depreciation expense and non-operational expenditure.
• Regular communication with stakeholders regarding expected costs
• Support the Financial Accounting Manager with other ad hoc requests and projects as required.
• Preparation of capital expenditure disclosures to Australian Bureau of Statistics
• Liaise with Wesfarmers and internal stakeholders to lodge insurance claims in an accurate and timely manner
• Be the back-up of Senior Financial Accountants whilst on leave
• Ability to articulate, seek & challenge system/processes in the Finance function and assist to understand financial/operational outcomes and make recommendations to drive improvement
