Global Development Journalist

We are seeking a skilled professional to cover the global development industry, with a focus on delivering high-quality reporting and insightful analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global development or a passion for learning about the aid industry. They will be able to dig into complex issues, build relationships with key stakeholders, and deliver content that informs and engages our audience.

This is an opportunity to contribute to our mission of making global development news more accessible and relevant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cover major developments in the global development industry, including new projects and initiatives, leadership transitions, and fundraising innovations.
  • Write comprehensive reports, as well as quick-hit news pieces and feature articles.
  • Present ideas at editorial meetings and collaborate with other reporters, the production team, and the social media engagement team.
  • Develop a strong understanding of your role within the wider news team and contribute to panels and webinars.
  • Work to hit key performance indicators, including increasing paid subscribers and monthly active users.

Requirements:
  • Experience as a journalist with a proven track record of delivering original reporting.
  • A strong passion for global development, with the curiosity to explore its complexities.
  • A network of contacts, or the drive to build one quickly.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage directly with readers.
  • Native level English with excellent written English.
  • A bachelor's degree.
