Part-Time Business Development Role

SolutionInn is seeking a talented individual to spearhead business development efforts, targeting partnerships with colleges and universities in the USA and Canada. This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of the education sector, close high-value deals, and lay the foundation for long-term partnerships that support scaling efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and secure partnerships with institutions in the target markets, aligning our platform with their academic and administrative needs.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand specific challenges and needs within the education sector.
  • Develop tailored strategies for engaging with institutional clients, creating proposals, and presenting our value proposition to academic decision-makers.
  • Manage the sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Present and pitch our platform to educational leaders, showcasing its potential to enhance student engagement and academic performance.
  • Negotiate terms, finalize contracts, and ensure smooth handoffs to the partnerships team for onboarding.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with universities, ensuring a deep understanding of their evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful implementation of our platform within partnered institutions.
  • Actively work to expand existing partnerships, identifying opportunities for upselling or introducing new features and services.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in the higher education sector and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Attend educational conferences, webinars, and networking events to increase our visibility and attract potential partners.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators related to business development efforts, ensuring goals and revenue targets are met.
  • Lead the business development function, including hiring and managing Business Development Executives or additional sales staff as the company grows.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, preferably within the education sector or EdTech.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to gather insights from data and market trends, and think strategically about growth opportunities.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills, ability to develop trust and rapport with senior academic stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to maintaining and nurturing long-term partnerships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
